LIFE in RENAISSANCESThe death of the Primordial God, Pangu, marked the genesis of Muyang's eternal renaissance. For countless centuries, his celestial powers of the sun are used for the greed and vengeance of the Heavenly Officials. Memories of his Primordial Body have long been purged from his mind, a protective curse from Xihe under the watchful eyes of the leading divine. The mark of Renaissance -92 brands the deity with August flames upon a December soul. How many vessels Muyang has taken in his lifetime is unbeknownst to him. Though, with 2300 faded years trailing close behind, the shadows casted by the sun are greater than he cares to acknowledge. His Renaissance of the two thousandth year brought upon him a life of iron and ichor. Having grown tired of the austere regimen, Muyang lashed out against the Heavenly Officials in an act of defiance. Achilles would have been proud of the Sun, a fighting spirit the hero could recognize in others greater than he could within himself, yet Muyang fell akin to the vengeful warrior's lover. The deity standing before the world today lives within Renaissance 21. Some mortals may desire to live among the gods than see another day on earth, but this humble home among those without omnipotent gifts proves to be the life of Muyang's unspoken dreams. Even still contractually bound to the celestial realm, the treasures upon this man-sculpted land are greater than the vaults of Caishen. After all, one must live among what one is sworn to protect. Muyang may fight for the Heavenly Officials, but it was never for their virulent approval.

MORTAL RELATIONS
After his exile from the Heavens, Muyang was sent to live among the mortals. An impoverished mother took pity upon the fallen deity and took him in her home. With her were two young children. A son, Fuxi, and a daughter, Nuwa.
Fuxi and Nuwa grew fond of Muyang, looking up to him as if he were of their own flesh and blood. He became a brother to them and a son to the woman–and for the first time, he made a vow on his own accord. A vow of sacrifice if it meant protecting his family.Returning from the village one summer evening, he was met with the panicked and grief-stricken face of his mother. The children had ventured into the neighboring forest whilst playing in the afternoon and have yet to return. Tales of individuals going missing within the forest have spread through the village. Some blame the Yaoguai, others blame blind curiosity. But Fuxi and Nuwa were old enough, they knew better than to wander unsupervised.Throughout the night, Muyang and his mother searched the forest for signs of the children. Footprint trails that led to dead ends, faint sounds of laughter that echoed from miles away, but no sign of them being near. With sunken hearts, the two began the trek back home when a silhouette appeared through the clearing. It stood there. Unmoving and dazed. Approaching further, the silhouette became a clear picture of Nuwa. Bloodshot eyes from the saline pool of tears, clothes torn and dirt upon her skin. Fuxi was not with her. She didn't answer her mother when asked about her brother. They knew in their hearts he would not be returning home. The loss of Fuxi weighed heavy on the family. Muyang tried to bear it all upon his shoulders, but there was only so much he could hold. If he had stayed home that day. If he had taken the kids to the village...his brother would be here. His mother wouldn't have to hold onto the grief of losing a child. His sister wouldn't have to cope with the trauma of being at Nuwa's side until the tragic end. Muyang couldn't maintain his vow. He felt it break and it broke him too.

PROFESSION
Still under vow to protect the earth from the wrath of the underworld, Muyang was guided by the High Priestess into the profession of higher level education. The Heavenly Officials directing his oaths agreed with the Priestess that this guise would serve the deity well; round the chipped edges of his persona while maintaining the established regimes for the next divine warfare.
Quickly advancing in his profession, Muyang became the department head at Fudan University where he teaches philosophy. Troubled and struggling students all came to eventually excel within their studies under the watchful eye and careful hand of the Sun. There has only been one whom he failed. A student not of philosophy, but of divine magic. Carmichael, the fallen archangel with a sorcerer's touch. The young boy first came to him with a tormented soul but with eyes brighter than his own. There was hope in him still and a true passion to learn; a passion to better himself and prove something to those who had given up on him. Carmichael grew close to Muyang, the younger looking up to the elder like a brother. Under the wing of the deity, Carmichael quickly advanced in his studies much like his mentor had in his respective profession. The archangel had powers unlike any Muyang had seen before and wielded them with an expertise that walked the line of striking awe and striking fear.Muyang's burgeoning concern proved not to be without reason. Carmichael's talents not only caught the eye of professors and students alike, but the eyes of the underworld. Yanluo Wang offered to the young sorcerer a life of great power and talents gifted by the Ten Kings of Hell. The boy craved power and knowledge...desired to be seen as more than a victory story; and with the deities of the underworld, he could have that. And so, Carmichael accepted Hell's offer, falling from the path of light and becoming a contractural enemy to the Sun.

Muyang's story continues with you.
